Kim Chandler

Kim was selected as a Gladiolus Group inductee for her consistent courage in pushing back on bad policies on the Granite District School board and for her clarity of expression in defending children.

Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Utah University, where she, captained the SUU women’s tennis team before graduating as university valedictorian.

Kim spent the better part of two decades advancing through a career in the financial services industry, where she gained valuable experience in leadership, advocacy, and legal document negotiation and interpretation. Kim has served on the Board of Education for Granite School District since January of 2023.

In this role, she has been a lone voice speaking out against Social and Emotional Learning, never-ending property tax increases, and the continual takeover of parental roles by the public school system. She worked to ensure that plans for all-gender restrooms at district high schools were halted, notably drawing international attention from media in South Korea in her efforts.

Kim has also pushed for stronger policies to remove pornographic and inappropriate content from school classrooms and libraries, and consistently voted against any and all character grading efforts in the district.

Kim’s other notable contributions include her advocacy for religious freedom and rights of conscience for students and their parents in the schools, and her opposition to character tracking and grading through social emotional learning profiles and transcripts. Her analysis of education bills has been featured on the Breaking Down Bad Bills zoom meetings hosted by Higher Ground.

When all is said and done though, Kim considers her greatest work to be the homeschooling of her three amazing children.
